Chart Your Cycle
Let me help you understand your cycle. Every cycle can be different, and by learning how to read it you can learn just what the heck is going on each time. This hormone awareness is key for your overall health whether or not you’re in a relationship, and can equip you with super important information that your doctor might not even think to ask you.
It turns out the information we’ve been taught is all over the board, and most of it applies to a textbook 28-day cycle. But even if you have a 28-day cycle, there is still plenty of room for error with charting for conception or contraception.
I have zero judgment about what you do or don’t know, my goal is to teach you the quickest, most important information for you and your body. We’ll dispel common myths and make sure you’re not wasting any time.
We cycle for 30-40 years, so working together is beneficial whether you are 18 years old to peri-menopause. The female body has the ability to experience so many changes over time, and I’d like to teach you how to embrace the ride. Do you have to learn everything? Nope! I get to the point and I make I about you. It can include:
Connection and knowledge - about what’s happening in your own body at all times. What’s normal vs abnormal. What you assumed or heard from a friend 10-20 years ago vs the truth. How to communicate what’s true for your body to your health provider and proof so they take you seriously, and you can work together based on your cycle instead of generic recommendations based on a 28-day cycle.
Body Autonomy- Once you know this information, no one can take it away from you. Knowledge is a right, and knowing how to use the signals of your body will help you maintain your conception or contraception goal no matter what is going on with the country or your insurance company.
Regular cycles- No matter what your cycle looks like, we never rely on old cycles, we always treat it like it’s new. Regular cycles are easier to work with, but more importantly, one day your cycle isn’t going to be regular, and here’s what’s going to happen: you’re going to assume you got pregnant (whether or not you know how, even if you’re not), then when you do get your period you are going to think it seems different and that you are miscarrying, or that something is very wrong with you. If you can’t tell, I get this text message a lot. Like, a lot a lot. The good news is that if you can prove when you ovulated (like i’ll show you), you’ll always know when you’re going to get your period, and an extended cycle won’t be a surprise.
Irregular Cycles- So this is one of my favorites. Let’s go over how to track when you’re fertile with irregular cycles, when your period will come so it’s not a surprise anymore, and a handful of natural tips and tricks to regulate them. We can see if you qualify for any hormonal imbalances, and if so, we can arm you with a ton of information to give to your doctor. We will also be able to get a sense of how irregular they are, which is also valuable.
Hormonal issues- like PCOS, Endometriosis, or fertility struggles. Also other annoying things like painful cramps, bloating, headaches, acne, etc. Learn to track them and find a theme, what they might mean, and natural solutions to help get rid of them that aren’t hormonal birth control.
Currently On Birth Control - If you are currently on hormonal birth control then you are not having a real period, even if you are experiencing a regular bleed. It can take up to a year for your cycle to become “regular” again once you quit, so we will discuss how to detox from the hormones, how to trust your body coming off of hormones, how to use your signals for birth control, and if you’re interested, how to prepare your body for conception. If you’re on the copper IUD it is a little less intense, but still a chance to heal your womb.
Conscious Conception- Whether your are preparing for the future or you’ve been trying for years, using information from your body we can make sure you are timing intercourse on the most accurate days (without spending $100’s on Ovulation kits), proof that you ovulated, proof you are pregnant, a more accurate due date than the outdated “Last menstrual period”, and also early detection of miscarriage.
Birth Control- You want smart natural birth control, and you want it whether you’re single, in a relationship, breastfeeding, peri-menopausal, detoxing from birth control, waiting to start trying, you name it. Your fertility belongs to you, and if you follow the rules I teach you with the information we have, you can avoid having a baby until either you’re ready, or never. And if you ignore what I said and you screw up, you’ll know whether you’re in the right time frame for Plan-B to even be effective.
So what’s next? How do we work together?
These sessions are all done virtually via Google Meet. Make sure you have the app or are able to access it before our session (I can do it through my Gmail app). To sign up, just go to the “Book Appointment” tab above and click “Virtual Consult for Cycle Health” appointments. If you choose Option #1, you’ll pay for both sessions at once. If you choose Option #2, you’ll pay for all sessions at once. Don’t try to schedule other sessions, we will do it together at our first appointment.
Option #1) A requirement of two sessions. The first session includes a detailed intake to see where you’re at now and where you want to go. Once I know where we are starting from I can customize my information to make it as easy and digestible as possible. I’ll never load you up with so much information that you’re overwhelmed and black out on all of it. This is about you, and after working with people for years I’ve been able to figure out what works for you, not just what I want you to know.
The second session is essential and mandatory, and is usually two or three weeks after the first. This second session ensures support and accountability. It’s one thing to learn something, it’s another to actually put it into practice. Here we see how it’s going, what worked, what didn’t, and how we need to pivot. We can interpret, course correct, and make sure we are on the right path for your desired outcome.
Option #2) This includes a container of 6 sessions. As I said above, cycles are rarely identical, and if our goal is to improve by making changes, it’s important to note those changes over time (otherwise what’s the point?! And where is the fun in that?!). This looks like an extension of Option #1, but contains four more 30-45 minute follow-ups about 2-3 weeks apart. While I’m sure you’re extremely intelligent, a wonderful student, and an impeccably resourceful DIY-er….you don’t have to navigate this alone. It’s easy to get up in your head and make up stories about what you see, but I’ve got 9 years of working with pelvic health and 6 years of working with cycles, and I’m pretty dang good at putting those spin-out stories to rest.
We can start with Option #1, and add on the additional sessions from #2 as we go if you want to keep working together. Also, if you’ve taken one of my classes in the past you’re welcome to sign up for a follow-up.
